GEM SERIES: MORGANITE

Ahh, morganite. Is there a gemstone more romantic and enchanting? This pretty lady in pink is rising in popularity and is all the rage right now. So what is a Morganite exactly? Morganite is a peachy pink gemstone that falls into the Beryl mineral family with Emerald and Aquamarine. It was first discovered in 1911 in Madagascar and is named after banker and gem collector, JP Morgan (wild right, what didn’t this guy do?). Their color range from a pale pink to an almost salmon hue.

A lot of people are swapping out diamonds for one of these beauties as their center stone for an engagement ring. And we see why! Their warm, romantic tones compliment all complexions and skin tones! Not to mention, they are a little kinder to your bank account. They are one of the most affordable gemstones despite how rare they are.

Morganite’s are perfect for daily wear and require minimal care because of their durability. Our favorite metal to be set in is Rose Gold. It really accentuates the rosy pink tints of the gemstone. We suggest if your heart is set on one of these dreamy and translucent gems, definitely set it in a Rose Gold setting to make it pop!
